The videos, photographs, objects, sculptures and installations presented here were made on site in several stages: set building, film shooting, surprise birthday party, launch of a mobile catering company, football match… In other words, use of the space right up to its destruction. The remains of these moments were used as a basis on which to assemble forms and edit films. The final modelling of the exhibition is a result of the previous stages, and the films show sequences edited using footage from different shootings. The exhibition is a group of fragments, archives and ways of “showcasing forms.” Any form of hierarchy has been abolished, in the same vein as a mould or negative of all the events that took place within it. The construction of meaning thus appears in the relationships which the artist gives us free rein to establish between the various formats. Neïl Beloufa – L’importance des sujets
